Window Dressing IV: Ryan Cronk
Exhibition Dates: October 28 - November 3 (On view 24hrs a day)
ICOSA Collective is pleased to announce our next installment of Window Dressing, a project space located in the front window of ICOSA Gallery at the Canopy Arts Complex.
Telluric episodes (Saturation) explores images of our geological world in a manner both absurd and structural. These screen printed monotypes showcase gems that are found in México, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras as a point of departure and a reflection of the political and environmental pressures in this area of the world. These pressures have become a historical marker of migration patterns, mimicking the complexity of gem and mineral creation.
Ryan Cronk was born in Honolulu, Hawai’i, and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has recently exhibited work at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City, MASS Gallery in Austin, TX, the Till Richter Museum in Buggenhagen, Germany, and the Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, Veracruz, México. His work is part of the Artist Printmaker/Photographer Research Collection at the Museum of Texas Tech University. He currently lives in Austin, TX where he teaches at St. Edward’s University and volunteers at the Don T. Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, TX, supporting women detained by ICE.
