Worn, Torn, Cut & Calloused
Jonas Criscoe & Sarah Hirneisen
Exhibition Dates: Dec3rd, 2021 - Jan 8th, 2022
ICOSA Collective is proud to present Worn, Torn, Cut & Calloused, an exhibition of new works by Jonas Criscoe and Sarah Hirneisen exploring the aesthetics of detritus and decay through the lens of surface, form, material and composition. Criscoe looks to the rural backroads of Texas for inspiration, the faded facades of old buildings, the forgotten towns. Hirneisen takes inspiration from natural cycles of growth, decay, and renewal, using the process of casting to enshrine and preserve.
Jonas Criscoe is an indisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited throughout the United States, most notably the International Print Center in New York and the Minnesota Museum of American Art. Criscoe has also been featured in various art publications, Including Art Lies and New American Painting and has been a Jerome Fellow at the Highpoint Center for Printmaking as well as a West Prize acquisition recipient.
